Cornelia Holsten (born 1970) has been director of the state media institute of Bremen since 2009. In past years she has reorganised the institute and in particular expanded its media competence activities. Holsten is chairwoman of the Commission for the Protection of Minors in the Media (KJM), a member of the Commission on Licensing and Supervision (ZAK) and deputy chairwoman of the Conference of Directors of the Media Authorities (DLM). She is also a member of the board of the Institute of European Media Law (EMR). The current focus of Holsten's fields of activity are on media usage trends, influencer marketing and accessibility in the media. Prior to this, Holsten was a judge for the district court and then, as of 2004, for the regional court of Bremen, where she held the deputy chair of a civil chamber for copyright, press and IT law as of 2007. At the same time she was the deputy press spokesperson of the regional court. Cornelia Holsten completed her studies of law and economics, as well as her legal clerkship in Bremen.
