Matthias Huber, born 1982, works as an editor for Süddeutsche Zeitung in the economics and tech sections. Born and raised in Munich. Studied physics for two years, then degree in political science, American studies and German literature. Started his journalism career with sports, continued with movies and arrived mainly at games. Previously worked for local newspapers, film magazines, Telepolis/heise online and in various positions for organisation and event PR.
Is convinced that Germany urgently needs more smart games journalism, that is actually aimed at grown-up gamers. Works to convince the Süddeutsche Zeitung, that game reviews should be in the culture and arts section and eSports in the sports section - where they each belong. If he could wish for a game, it would be as cleverly funny as Portal, as strategically fascinating as Tropico 1, as detailed as Overwatch and as inexhaustible as World of Warcraft.
