Youth protection in real life
Originally, Stephan Schölzel wanted to become a computer scientist or graphic designer, but after community service he found himself studieng social work. There he discovered the field of media pedagogy and the potential of digital games. He also learned that this field is dominated by the idea of ?avering risks and to minimize damage? done by media, yet there are many opportunities to act and lots of work to do. He eventually found his way to the ?infocafe? in Neu-Isenburg, which is one of the few facilities focussing on media pedagogy with children and teenagers. Since 2010, he successfully works there and is now pursuing a master in Game Studies. And if he has time, he still plays.
